New Housing-Start Data Due This Week

More important numbers are expected Tuesday morning, when the U.S. Census Dept. is scheduled to release new housing start numbers for the month of November 2005 at 8:30 a.m.

It's hard to tell yet if this is just another little dip, or the start of the slide, but the new numbers this week could give the bubble buzzers more to buzz about, but only if the data show a big drop.

To keep it in perspective, check out the chart from the US Census at right. As you'll see, there have been bigger dips throughout the boom cycle than what we've seen so far. Click on the chart or here for a larger version
